Being successful is something that we all want to know how to do. In fact, many business blogs are dedicated to the top tips for success and how to reach your business goals. When it comes to success, the one thing that you may not realise is that success starts from the very moment that you wake up in the morning. So, with this in mind, we thought that we would dedicate this entrepreneur blog to how to set up your very best morning routine for success. Ideal for those who work from home or who simply want to get a head start before the rest of the world even gets themselves out of bed.
We also have a great article sharing some self discipline hacks for success too (for you to read after!).
Set your alarm!
When you are someone who works from home, whether that is long-term or every so often, then chances are that you start to become one of those people who sets their alarm for the last minute possible. Sure, every so often this can be a bit of a treat if you are feeling tired; but it can actually do more harm than good.
It is a much better idea to set your alarm for yourself at the same time everyday, no matter what you are doing. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be crazy early if that is not your thing, but early enough to make sure that you have time to finish your morning routine before starting work for the day.
Don’t check your emails before you have woken up
It can be incredibly hard to set boundaries between work and home when they are the same place. However, it is vital that you do this for your wellbeing and for how well you perform in a work capacity too.
It may be tempting to have a sneaky look at your emails as you get out of bed, but you should really leave that until you are sat at your desk and you are ready for the day. Otherwise, you may end up noticing something that you see as being urgent and then working on that rather than making some time for yourself.
Have a shower
Once you have actually got yourself up and out of bed, then the time has come to have a shower. Some people think that it is best to shower at night and whilst this may be okay once in a while if you are in a rush in the morning, a shower first thing is where it is at.
Not only does it make you clean, but it also is a great way to kickstart your system and get it ready to go. It will definitely help you to feel more awake, which will mean that you are more inclined to actually do whatever it is that you need to do.
Breakfast is a hugely undervalued meal of the day. Many of us think that we can skip it and wait for lunch to come around, but your body needs to re-fuel after being busy during the night.
If you are making yourself a cup of tea or coffee, then while the kettle is boiling have some fruit, some cereal or pop some bread into the toaster. It doesn’t have to be a huge amount, just enough to fill you up and make sure that you don’t have any hunger pangs before lunch.
If you really do lack time in the morning, then you could always make your breakfast the night before and have it ready for you for the next day.
For us, this is one of the most important tasks to ensure you have the best morning routine for success.
Do any extra important and urgent chores
We all know that it is far too easy to get distracted by things around the house when you are working from home. Most jobs can be left until later on in the day when you are away from work, but there are likely to be those that will bother you if they are left untouched.
If this is true for you, then make sure that you allocate yourself a bit of time to get those sorted out before you start work. This means that you can actually focus on what you have to do, rather than getting distracted by the washing up or folding up those clothes that are piling up.
Set your goals for the day
When you think of goals, particularly that relate to your business, chances are that they are going to be long-term ones. What we all too easily forget is that goals can be much smaller scale, some only applying to that particular day.
Once you are at your desk, you can start to think about which goals apply to you for that day, what things do you want to get done before you sign off?
You also can take this chance to work out which of those things are most important, giving them some kind of priority order, which will help you to get through those key tasks as the day goes on.

As you can see, your morning routine can have a huge impact on the rest of your day and how successful you are. The key is to make sure that your mind and body are awake and alert.
That the blood is flowing round your body and that you are ready to face the world. Sure, there are also going to be days when you feel that you simply cannot get dressed and end up working in your PJ’s.
Don’t beat yourself up about those days. Remember that success is not just about making money and creating a great brand, it is also about looking after yourself as you do it. Be kind to yourself and your success will come and you will definitely enjoy the journey more on your way to success!
We hope this has been a helpful guide on the best morning routine for success!
